About The Band
Darker Shade of Leather is a two-piece musical act based in Helena, Montana. The group was officially formed in 2016 in Bryan, Ohio before relocating to Montana in 2019. DSofL comprises Dawn Mays on vocals, and Erica Mays on guitar and backing vocals.
DSofL performs two full sets of unplugged cover songs of wildly popular hits from the 80s, 90s, and 2000s in the style of MTV’s hugely successful television series “MTV Unplugged.” That show featured the hottest rock bands in the land performing acoustic versions of their music catalog in front of a live audience, making live, unplugged performances of chart-topping songs one of the premiere ways to showcase musical talent on the world stage.
DSofL also performs one full set of popular contemporary Christian cover songs ideally suited for Worship events also in the “unplugged” style.
